Media war with H. Olafsson

 This is a dossier of the case of the Norwegian Church Aid representative in Ethiopia and the Norwegian Honorary Consulate-General in Addis Abeba Mr. Haraldur Olafsson. During the world wide campagn to save millions of hungry lives in Ethiopia, Mr. Haraldur Olafsson supported and indeed defended the military juntas (Derg) policy of politicising the distribution of aid. He went so far as to support Ethiopias export of meat to Egypt in the middle of the campagn.

The articles and letters to the editor are all in norwegian language. But some of the communication between us and his employers was in english. Under my articles and under my letters a reader would be able to see scanned documents of all the published materials on this matter. 

 There was a real media war waged between Mr. H. Olafsson and Emnetu Tesfay.  

In the summer of 1985 Mr. H. Olafsson was recalled to Norway and according to reliable sources he was requested to submit a letter of resignation. In other words he was dismissed by his primary employer, the Norwegian Church Aid, and consequently his second employer, the Foreign Ministry of the Norwegian government.
